A selection of home-related stuff that turned up with decent independent reviews. Not exhaustive, just stuff that looked worth a look.
Winix 5530 Air Purifier
Frequently tops budget and mid-range air purifier tests for actual particle removal without costing a fortune. Solid for bedrooms or medium rooms. Filter costs matter more than the sticker price with these things, and this one tends to come out reasonable.
Levoit Core Air Purifier
Levoit Core models (200S, 300S, Mini) keep appearing in Which? and Guardian round-ups as practical HEPA purifiers. Good for bedrooms or living rooms, smart options available, reasonable filter costs.
Coway Airmega Mighty (AP-1512HH or Mighty2)
The one Wirecutter and similar sites kept recommending for years. Quiet enough to leave running, strong enough for a decent-sized room, and not ridiculous on running costs. Still a safe “just get this” option for most people.
KAIHENG Clear Window Weather Sealing Tape
Transparent tape for sealing gaps around windows and doors to stop drafts, dust and weather. Residue-free removal, works on glass, metal, plastic and painted wood. Useful for older windows or around portable AC units when you just want to stop the cold (or heat) getting in.
Anker Nano Power Bank
Small, high-capacity power bank that Which? and others keep recommending. Compact enough for a pocket, charges a phone several times, and Anker’s reputation for not dying after a year helps. Popular for a reason.
MeacoDry Arete Dehumidifier
The dehumidifier that keeps winning UK tests for actually shifting water and staying quiet. Useful in British winters for damp and for speeding up indoor drying. Not the cheapest, but the one people stick with.
Eufy SoloCam Outdoor Security Camera
Wire-free outdoor camera that Which? has flagged. Solar-powered options available, local storage (no subscription), and solid night vision. Popular for people who want basic coverage without a monthly fee.
Lakeland StaySnug or Dreamland Heated Throw
Heated throws that keep turning up in Which?, Independent and Mumsnet tests. Cheaper to run than heating a room, useful for the sofa in a UK winter. StaySnug and Dreamland both get regular mentions for even heat and decent build.
Silentnight or Dreamland Electric Underblanket
The bed version rather than the sofa throw. Silentnight and Dreamland both appear regularly in UK tests for warming the bed without running the heating all night. Dual controls on some models if you share.
